Chanakya Astro is a Vedic astrology app for iPhone and Android, and a website. It gives you the daily Panchangam, Muhurtam (auspicious times) and Jatakam (your birth chart, tarabalam and matching), in English, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Tamil. Calculations use the Swiss Ephemeris.

To report a wrong result, tell us the date, time and place you entered, the screen you were on, and your app version. In the app, About > Contact support fills in your app details for you.

Frequently asked questions
How do I sign in?
On iPhone, use Sign in with Apple. On Android, use Google. You need to sign in only for the features that use your birth details, such as your birth chart, tarabalam and matching. The Panchangam and Muhurtam views work without signing in. We do not keep your email address.
How many charts can I make?
Your account can hold 5 saved charts at a time, and you can create up to 20 new charts in a year. Opening a chart you already made, changing the name, or reading it in another language does not use up a new chart. To free a place, remove a chart under Settings > Manage profiles, on any of your devices.
How do I change the language?
Open Settings > Language. You can choose English, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada or Tamil.
Why does the app ask for my location?
The location is used to find a place and, on Android, to show the day's times for where you are. On iPhone the app reads your position only when you tap “Use my location” while entering a birth place. You can type a city instead, and you can switch the permission off in your phone's settings. The app does not track you in the background. Details are in the Privacy Notice.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings > Your account > Delete account, and read what happens before you confirm. This removes your account and its records from our servers, and your saved charts and details from your phone. One small record stays for up to 365 days so that the yearly chart limit keeps working; it holds no name, email or birth detail. If you only delete the app from your phone, your account stays, so delete the account first. If you cannot sign in, email us from the address above.
What happens to my data?
Your account ID and a few small records are kept on our server. Your name, birth details and place are sent to our server to calculate your chart, and are not kept in your account. The full list, with how long each item is kept, is in the Privacy Notice for the mobile app.
